NEWS: Selection of paintings to be auctioned by Rosebery's on 25 March 2025


William E Narraway (1915-1979) was a celebrated post-war portrait artist who completed multiple commissions of the late Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the royal family.

Other notable commissions included: Archbishop of Canterbury; Alexander Todd, President of the Royal Society; Sir Adrian Boult; Sir Malcolm Sargent; Ralph Vaughan Williams and Susan Hampshire.

Based in studios in Chelsea, London and in the Surrey Hills, Narraway was a master of landscape, still life and sculpture as well as portraiture, marking him as a true creative spirit.
